Acorn homes tend to attract people who care about finish, layout and the overall feel of a place, not just the square footage. That usually suits me. The television side of a new home is much easier to get right when somebody wants it done properly from the start, with neat cable routes, sensible equipment choices and no clumsy add-ons spoiling a well-designed room.
I’m Geoff Price, and I carry out careful aerial and TV installation work across Devon. Acorn’s local developments give that work a nice spread between city and coast, from St Leonards Quarter in Exeter to Rolle Gardens in Exmouth. They are very different settings, but both are the sort of homes where owners usually want the media side to feel considered rather than improvised.
That might mean fitting a new aerial for dependable Freeview, checking whether a powered loft aerial is realistic in that particular property, installing a Freesat dish, adding extra signal points for bedrooms or kitchens, or mounting a television so the main room feels finished before everyday life takes over. If you are moving into one of Acorn’s Exeter homes, my Exeter aerials page may also be useful.
Acorn homes often reward a more considered installation
With Acorn, there is often a design-led element to the property itself. At St Leonards Quarter, for example, the appeal is not just the address; it is the combination of modern living, landscaped space and a higher-spec feel. In Exmouth, Rolle Gardens mixes new-build homes with the retained character of Eldin House close to the seafront. That sort of variation matters because the best TV setup in a smart city apartment is not always the same as the best answer in a coastal townhouse or converted period building.
In some homes, a discreet wall-mounted screen and a couple of well-placed points are all that is needed. In others, it makes sense to think bigger and plan a lounge around a larger TV, a soundbar and hidden connections so the room still feels calm and uncluttered. I also help with straightforward home cinema installations where customers want a cleaner, more immersive setup without turning the place into a full-blown project.
City homes, coastal homes and different signal questions
One reason I prefer to assess each job properly is that reception and layout are not identical from one Acorn development to another. Exeter can want a slightly different approach from Exmouth, and a loft aerial that is ideal in one home may not be the right choice in another. I test properly, advise honestly and then fit what actually suits the property.

If your move is taking you towards the coast, you may also want to look at my Exmouth Aerials page. A lot of Acorn buyers around Exmouth want the same thing: something that works properly, looks tidy and suits the style of the home.
Extra points, Freesat and tidy TV mounting for Acorn buyers
One of the best times to think about TV points and reception is right at the start of moving in. It is much easier to decide where the main screen will go, whether the principal bedroom wants a feed, or whether a kitchen or study point would be useful before the room is fully settled. For some customers, a simple aerial installation is plenty. Others prefer Freesat, or want a smarter multi-room arrangement set up from day one.
That is especially true in homes that have been designed to feel modern and uncluttered. You do not want a lovely new room spoiled by visible leads, awkward boxes or a rushed afterthought of an installation. My aim is to keep the work sensible, tidy and in keeping with the quality of the property.
