New Build Aerials Exeter

If you’ve just reserved or moved into a new-build home in Exeter and need a reliable TV aerial installed, I’m your guy! I’m Geoff, and my son Will and I carry out professional new build aerial installations in Exeter and across the surrounding area. We work on brand-new houses every week, so we know the little quirks that often come with modern homes: blanked-off TV plates, weak loft signals, missing aerial feeds, awkward cable routes, and “it should work” promises that don’t quite match reality once the TV is actually switched on.

When people search for New Build Aerials Exeter, they usually want one simple thing: a neat, dependable installation that works properly from day one. That is exactly what I aim to provide. I don’t rush jobs, I don’t fit poor-quality bits just to get in and out quickly, and I don’t believe in vague pricing that changes once I arrive. I take pride in doing the work properly, explaining what I’m doing, and leaving you with a signal setup that feels finished rather than temporary.

A Proper Aerial Installation for Your New Home in Exeter

new build aerials exeterA surprising number of new-build homes in Exeter still need extra TV aerial work. Some properties are pre-wired internally but don’t actually have a good aerial in place. Others have a loft aerial that struggles once the weather changes or once the TV is placed in a different room. In some homes, the lounge point works after a fashion but the bedroom points don’t, or the signal is split in a way that leaves one set pixelating while another seems acceptable.

This is where experience matters. I don’t just turn up and attach an aerial blindly. I test the signal properly, look at the route of the cable, assess whether the existing setup is worth keeping, and recommend the best option for the property. Sometimes that means a robust external aerial fitted neatly and discreetly. Sometimes it means correcting a poor splitter or amplifier arrangement. Sometimes it means making the existing cabling do the job it should have done from the start.

Modern houses can look straightforward from the outside, but each site is a little different. Roof shape, insulation, foil-backed materials, nearby buildings, and the exact position of the property on the development can all affect reception. That is why a proper site-specific approach is better than a one-size-fits-all install.

Why New Build Aerials in Exeter Need Local Knowledge

Exeter has grown fast, and there are lots of newer homes around Pinhoe, Monkerton, Hill Barton, Alphington, Matford, and on the wider eastern and south-west sides of the city. Each of these areas can present slightly different signal conditions depending on the exact plot, the height of the house, and what is around it. On one road, a loft aerial may behave reasonably. Two streets away, a rooftop aerial may be the only sensible long-term answer.

I regularly work on homes in the newer parts of Pinhoe and Monkerton, where there are now large communities of modern houses and family homes, as well as on the Alphington and Matford side of Exeter where new housing has expanded significantly. Exeter has also continued growing through major development areas to the south-west, while the Cranbrook side of the city remains a busy source of move-ins and follow-on installation work.

That local experience helps. I know the kind of issues that come up on new estates. I know that one housebuilder’s “TV ready” can mean something different from another’s. I know that customers want the cabling to look tidy, the aerial to be mounted securely, and the job explained in plain English rather than jargon. And because I have done so many of these installations, I can usually tell quite quickly what will work best and what will end up causing problems later.

The sort of issues I often sort out on Exeter new builds

Common new-build aerial jobs include:

  • Installing a brand-new rooftop aerial for reliable Freeview reception
  • Testing and improving weak signal on pre-installed TV points
  • Connecting multiple rooms properly through a splitter or amplifier
  • Replacing poor or unstable loft aerial arrangements
  • Adding extra aerial points in bedrooms or kitchens
  • Helping with TV tuning and setup once the aerial is in place
  • Combining aerial work with wall mounting or smart TV setup where needed

Moving Into a New Build in Pinhoe, Monkerton, Alphington or Matford?

Many of the newer developments in Exeter are lovely homes, but TV reception is one of those things that often gets left until the very end. You can move into a beautiful new house, unpack the sofa, plug in the television and then realise you haven’t actually got the signal setup you expected. That is very common, and it is one of the main reasons people call me for New Build Aerials Exeter.

On the Pinhoe and Monkerton side of Exeter, I often see properties where the internal wiring is there, but the final aerial solution still needs attention. On the Alphington and Matford side, the issue is often making sure the signal is solid and distributed neatly across the house. On larger modern estates generally, customers often want more than just “a picture on one TV” — they want the main lounge working properly, bedroom points available for future use, and a tidy installation that suits a new home they’ve just invested heavily in.

I also appreciate that, when you’ve just moved, you may already be juggling flooring, blinds, internet activation, furniture deliveries and endless boxes. So I aim to make the aerial side simple. I will explain what is needed, give an honest quote, and carry out the work neatly and efficiently.

Can the Aerial Be Installed Before You Move In?

Yes, in many cases it can. This is something I help with regularly on new-build properties in Exeter. If your developer permits access before completion, and the sales office is happy with the arrangements, I can often install the aerial before your moving day so that the TV side is already sorted when you get the keys.

That can be especially helpful if you’re moving with children, if you work from home and want everything settled quickly, or if you simply want one less thing to worry about during the move. Usually the process is straightforward: once we’ve discussed what you need, you speak to your sales office, arrange the required permission or disclaimer, and we book in a suitable day.

I have a good working reputation with customers moving into homes built by a range of developers, and I understand the importance of turning up when arranged, behaving professionally on site, and leaving the installation looking neat and finished. On a new home, presentation matters just as much as performance.

In this age, when so many large companies seem to see customers just as people to be milked, it is heart warming to find a small, local service that is so skilled and also so determined to provide such excellent customer service.

Not All “TV Ready” New Homes Are Truly Ready

One of the most common misunderstandings with new-build properties is the idea that a wall plate automatically means you have a good usable aerial feed. Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case. Sometimes there is no suitable aerial connected. Sometimes the feed is weak. Sometimes the signal has been split too many times. And sometimes everything looks right until you actually try watching the television during bad weather or in the evening, when the faults start to show up as freezing, missing channels or picture break-up.

That is why I use proper signal-testing equipment rather than guesswork. I want to know exactly what sort of signal quality is available, whether the aerial position is right, and whether the system is going to remain reliable. A lot of the time, the cheapest quick fix is not the best value. I’d rather install something robust once than leave you with a setup that needs revisiting in six months.

Extra TV Points, Wall Mounting and Smart TV Setup

While I am there, I can also help with the extras that people often want in a new home. That might be an additional TV point in a bedroom, a neater feed into a snug or kitchen, help connecting a new television, or a wall-mounted setup in the lounge. Quite a few customers in Exeter ask me to deal with the aerial and the TV installation together, which often makes sense as it gets everything finished in one visit.

If you’ve bought a larger set for the new house, I can also help make sure it is positioned well and connected properly. Modern new-build living rooms often look best with a clean, tidy finish, and I always keep that in mind with cable routing and final appearance. The aim is not just for it to work, but for it to look right in the room as well.

Two-Year Guarantee for Reassurance

All of my work is backed by a full two-year guarantee. That matters on a new-build home, because you want to know the job has been done properly and that you are not taking a chance on flimsy parts or rushed workmanship. A good aerial installation should feel like one of those jobs you can tick off and forget about because it has been done right.

Most of my work comes from recommendation and repeat customers, and that only happens when people feel looked after. I take the time to explain things properly, I don’t pressure anyone, and I always try to leave customers feeling reassured rather than baffled. If you are not sure what your new home needs, that is absolutely fine — I am happy to talk it through.

Honest Quotes for New Build Aerials in Exeter

One thing customers often tell me is that they appreciated the fact I was straightforward with them. I believe in clear, honest quoting. If your property needs a simple aerial installation, I will say so. If it needs a slightly more involved setup because of multiple rooms or signal conditions, I will explain why. What I won’t do is lure you in with unrealistic “from” prices and then inflate the job once I’m on site.

New homes are expensive enough without being messed around over extras that should have been explained clearly from the beginning. I would rather be transparent, do a proper job, and have you happy to recommend me afterwards.
